SUSAN MILLER is an Obie award winning playwright and Guggenheim Fellow whose works include the critically acclaimed one-woman play, MY LEFT BREAST, which premiered in Actors' Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival (Obie); A MAP OF DOUBT AND RESCUE (Susan Smith Blackburn Prize); and NASTY RUMORS AND FINAL REMARKS (Obie). Other plays include SWEEPING THE NATION, FOR DEAR LIFE, FLUX, CONFESSIONS OF A FEMALE DISORDER, IT'S OUR TOWN, TOO, and READING LIST. She has been produced at The Public Theatre, Second Stage, Actors' Theatre of Louisville, Naked Angels, and The Mark Taper Forum, among others. Miller was a Consulting Producer on Showtime's hit series, "The L Word," and her short film, "The Grand Design," was recently directed by Eric Stoltz. NELA WAGMAN directed the world premiere of MY LEFT BREAST by Susan Miller for Actors' Theater of Louisville, for Watermark Theater in New York, where it won an OBIE, and throughout the show's national tours. Recent New York credits include Amy Fox's SUMMER CYCLONE, Lloyd Suh's MASHA NO HOME and Ann Marie Healey's BONNIE at Ensemble Studio Theatre, Christopher Shinn's TWO WORLDS at the Minetta Lane and Lucille Lortel Theaters, Lee Blessing's THIRTY-FOURTH AND DYER at Town Hall, and WAUKEGAN WEDDING by Adam Kraar and RED SIGNAL by Lisa Radano at HB Playwrights Foundation.

 

VITAL THEATRE COMPANY produces original full-length plays for adults on its , presents Vital Signs, an annual festival of one-acts from where, to date, 24 plays have gone on to publication, and, over the past 10 years, has commissioned, developed and produced over 30 original musicals for children. The company's education wing, Vital Voices, has influenced the lives of over 68,000 NYC students.
