Vital Theatre Company is dedicated to producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences. Located in New York City, Vital Theatre Company commissions three to five new musicals for children each season. ...a charming adaptation...transforms Penguin’s fellow fledglings...into full-fledged characters... Simple and straightforward enough to be understood by a 3-year-old, but engaging enough to amuse a parent...The production’s biggest boon, however, may be its score. Here, Mr. Mallamud has written music worthy of bigger stages, variously embracing classical lyricism, pulsing pop, the poignant ballad and at least one all-out, Alice Cooper-style rock rant.

...with the help of new friends...he achieves his dream ... the show praises teamwork and encourages children to find ways to work together and support one another. The songs are upbeat [and ]fun... The kids go crazy when Pelican rocks out ...Seagull...encourages kids to be themselves even when they feel pressure from their friends... ...definitely something for both adults and children. The ensemble is quite ripe with talent. There isn't a weak link. The actors brilliantly include their young audience whilst keeping the story moving forward. This is a show I would definitely recommend for a young audience to see. Loads of fun all around!
