ABOUT THE SHOW

From Katharine Holabird, the author of the classic book series Angelina Ballerina, comes a brand new show for all those who love fairies, friendship, dragons and fun! Twinkle has always wanted a pet and is thrilled when Fairy Godmother grants her wish. While her friends get cute little pets, a naughty pet dragon named Scruffy is NOT what Twinkle had in mind! Can Twinkle tame her dragon in time for Fairy Pet Day?

Ashley Curry (Pippa) is a recent graduate of American Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Ashley adores theatre because it is a safe place for all ages to learn, connect, question and create. Ashley feels very blessed to be making her Vital theatre debut! Ashley wants to thank her mom for always being her number one cheerleader. Ashley would like to thank God for continually keeping her grounded.

Mackinnley Bowden (Scruffy) is a recent graduate of the Musical Theatre program at the New York Film Academy. Most recently he was seen as Leaf Coneybear in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee directed by Todd Buonopane and as the Emcee in Cabaret directed by Nathan Brewer. He also appeared in a short movie musical, "Streetwrite", currently playing in festivals around the country and globe. Originally from Australia, Mackinnley worked regionally in productions like 13, where he played Evan, and was featured in the ensemble of the Queensland Opera's production of La Boheme in the award-winning QPAC theatre. Mackinnley is very excited to be playing Scruffy and to have become a part of telling his new favourite story!

Josephine Patane (Twinkle) is happy to be performing with Vital Theatre! Regional credits include: Fiddler on the Roof (Chava), The Sound of Music (Liesl), Peter Pan (Jane/Tootles), La Cage Aux Folles (Anne). Film: "Happy Yummy Chicken". Trysten Reynolds (Lulu) is thrilled to be making her debut with Vital Theatre! Formerly a character performer at Walt Disney World, some of her favorite theatre credits include: Anything Goes! (Reno), The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), and The Phantom of the Opera. BFA: Brigham Young University. Many thanks to the Twinkle team, and my incredible family!

Michelle ZurSchmiede (Fairy Godmother) is thrilled to be bringing back one of her favorite fairies to the Vital stage! She graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Select regional credits include: (Evil Stepmother) Cinderella, (Glinda) The Wizard of Oz, (Irene Malloy) Hello Dolly, (Velma Von Tussle) Hairspray, (Lois Lane/ Bianca) Kiss Me Kate, and (Emma) Jekyll & Hyde. CREATIVES

Katharine Holabird (Co-Book Writer) is the author of "Twinkle Tames A Dragon" as well as the "Angelina Ballerina" books, and co-writer of the musical book. Katharine has written over thirty storybooks for children, and her Angelina Ballerina books have won many awards and been turned into a TV animation series as well as two Vital Theatre Company musicals. "Twinkle" is Katharine’s latest children's character, a fun loving fairy with magical wings.

Cara Lustik (Co-Book Writer) has written the book for Flight School the Musical and Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas the Musical. She has over 15 years in the entertainment, branding and licensing industries. Previously, she worked with HIT Entertainment for its preschool properties including Thomas the Tank Engine™. Cara has worked with Production, Home Entertainment, Creative, Live Events, Broadcast and Digital teams on live events and stage productions, new characters, and digital initiatives. www.lustikink.com

Matthew Hardy (Book & Lyrics) has written the book and lyrics for the new musical comedies Flambé Dreams, Bonnets & Bling!, The Rubberers, Ever Happily After, Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas and Twinkle Tames a Dragon. Matthew received an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Lyric Writing at The New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012, is an Anna Sosenko Trust Recipient (2012), and a Jerry Boch Award finalist (2011). As an actor, he has performed with the National Tour of Fosse, toured with Jane Comfort & Co., presented his own cabaret act entitled Songs for the Dysfunctional, and worked at many regional theaters across the nation. Randy Klein (Composer) is an award-winning composer and pianist with 4 Emmy Awards and 2 Gold Records. His musical theatre works include: Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas, 2014 to present; Flambé Dreams, 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival; Ever Happily After, a children’s musical, 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival; Move!, a dance musical commissioned - Royal Theatre Carre', Amsterdam; I Don't Do Club Dates, staged readings Victory Theater, by the National Musical Theater Network and John Harms Arts Center. Recipient of the Simons Fellowship at the Hall Center for the Humanities, University of Kansas, he is an Anna Sosenko Trust Recipient; BMI Foundation Jerry Harrington Award for Achievement in Musical Theatre, nominated for the Jerry Boch Award for theater composition. Gina Solebello (Stage Manager) is excited to be working with the Vital Theatre Company for Twinkle Tames a Dragon! She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre from Marywood University, located in Scranton, PA and moved to New York City in 2014 to pursue a career in the arts. Gina is the Artistic Director of THE CREATORS COLLECTIVE, a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary arts collective. Gina stage manages for the Inversion Theater Company, and is a member of their Artistic Associate Advisory Committee. Most recently Gina worked directly with the stage management team of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a production assistant for three consecutive seasons. She is looking forward to explore the world of children's theatre in NYC!

Kyle Dixon (Set Designer), a Kentucky native, has been designing in NYC for almost a decade. His scenic artwork may be seen from The Lost Colony to the Bellagio Conservatory in Las Vegas, as well as NYC and many places in between. Recent productions include Angelina Ballerina The Musical (NYC, Tour, and Toronto), StinkyKids, The Musical, and the premiere of Larry Kunofsky's Your Boyfriend May Be Imaginary. Kaitlyn Day (Costumes) is a native of Queens, NY. She recently graduated with her Masters Degree in Costume Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is currently an assistant on School of Rock the Musical (designed by Anna Louizos) and An American in Paris (designed by Bob Crowley), both on Broadway. Max Darwin (Illusion Consultant) is a theater artist and magician. He has designed illusions for the FOX TV show "Gotham" and can be seen on TV as guest artist and magic consultant for Season 3 & 4 of The National Geographic Channel's top rated show "Brain Games". Other credits include ABC's "Black Box" and as the host of the hit Nickelodeon show "Game Farm". Max has also appeared in numerous national TV commercials for products like Verizon, Bank of America, Axe Body Spray, and Coca-Cola.
