Imagine: You are a Republican. You are in NYC, the city which has, in conjunction with the Republican
National Committee, unfurled a fabulous media campaign featuring a tag line “Make Nice, New York,” with
the beloved Ed Koch as it’s spokesperson. You are comforted by the blitzkrieg of hoopla generated to
encourage those ever-stalwart New Yorkers to help you enjoy this fair city while you nominate President
George W. Bush to continue his shining presidency. You need a place to relax and refresh after bobbing and
weaving to avoid all those mildly annoying protestors. You come to Vital Theatre, for some succor…

Each Thursday this summer, Vital Theatre will provide entertainment of the most amusing sort, from ballads
to belly dancing, stand-up to theatre pieces – all in the spirit of Making the Republicans Feel Welcome.
Classic tuxedoed host(s) will treat guests to patter and piano, in a cabaret atmosphere, introducing an everchanging variety of acts from around the city. (Granted, the Republican’s won’t actually BE HERE yet. But
hey, it’s theatre. It’s pretend.) It’s an evening’s entertainment with a political edge brought to you by the
rarely-Republican artists at Vital Theatre Company.

Participating artists to be announced each week on the web site at www.vitaltheatre.org.

Other performances that make up Vital’s Summer of Love include:

“The Vital Funny”, where a multitude of sketch comedy groups go head-to-head each Saturday evening
July 17 through August 21. Late night in a cabaret setting, 2nd Floor, Vital Theatre Company.

The premiere of J. Holtham’s new play, “11th Hour”, directed by Bradley Campbell, July 29th through
April 15th. A Vital Directions Project on the 3rd Floor, Vital Theatre Company.

Now entering its seventh season, VITAL THEATRE COMPANY maintains two intimate spaces on
Theatre Row. Vital produces intriguing adult and children’s theatre. For more information, please visit
